So you’ve probably heard the phrase “mini session” a time or two…but what exactly is that? Well, let me explain.

A mini session is simply a very short photo session. A standard (full) photo session is typically much longer in length, to allow time to capture more photos. Mini sessions are all about short times (15-20 minutes), a small number of edited photos, and a lower price.

So Why Choose a Mini Session?

Sharetha Monique Photography offers mini sessions occasionally throughout the year, during specific seasons (such as spring and fall), holidays (such as Valentine’s Day and Christmas), or special events (such as the first day of school).

Booking a mini session allows you to take advantage of a specific theme being offered or obtain professional photos for your holiday cards. In addition, in my experience with young children, I typically get the best photos and their happiest demeanor within the first few minutes, so a mini session is perfect for that.

With a mini session, you have the opportunity to experience beautiful, custom photography at a lower price than a typical standard session. Keep in mind, however, that because the session time is much shorter, the number of photos available from the session is limited (compared to the number of photos available from a full session).

What to Expect

Because mini sessions are typically scheduled back to back, it’s very important that you arrive on time (early even!) for your scheduled appointment in order to ensure you get your photos taken. Be dressed and ready for your photos. If you are late for your session (or don’t show up at all), there’s no guarantee that your photographer will be able to reschedule your appointment.
